New Moon in Aries 2026. Sing Your Songs.

The New Moon in Aries arrives on April 17th at 4:51AM Pacific Daylight Time (UTC-7). It is part of a major stellium in the sign that’s tied with beginnings and quick decisions.

That’s right, in addition to the Sun and the Moon (which, of course, happens every new moon as the Sun and Moon appear in the same spot in the sky from our vantage point), we also have Saturn, Mars, Neptune, and Mercury just joined the fray on the 14th.

So, you have probably noticed that there is a prevalent Nike-esque energy wafting through the air, ya know: “just do it.” Or, all the planets have prodded you to take action on something you’ve been contemplating, then it’s been just… agitating you.

Like the frog slowly being boiled in a pot of water.

But we need not be boiling frogs! However… it does mean we have to act fast. We have to be quick (or quicker) on our feet. This doesn’t mean we should be rash, it just means being aware that there are dangers in waiting too long, sitting in idle.

On the Knave Arcade discord, I shared some advice on how to get through this agitated and aggravated energy, which was:

body of text reads:
Big Aries energy this week! Do not be surprised if you feel more:

- angry
- annoyed
- irritated
- heated (even physically!)
- restless
- impatient

than you usually do or disproportionately so to the situation than normal. I recommend taking more time this week to channel that fire into more productive ways (do more physical activity, take walks, exercise, get off, scream in the woods, start a project that you’ve been putting off, etc). Also drink more water! Spend time away from people you know will bother you (if possible)! Wash your hair!

Psst, tipping anything on Ko-Fi or joining the membership (even at the first tier!) gets you access to the discord!

Also, please excuse the typo, I know it should be “disproportionately.” This is how you know I didn’t ask genAI to write my stuff!

But in addition to that, I also have some pulls for you! Once again, these are from my “Refract & Reflect Oracle” deck, which I am happy to announce has been updated and refreshed! The new link to buy the second edition can be found here:

https://www.makeplayingcards.com/sell/marketplace/refract-and-reflect-oracle-2nd-edition.html

A handful of cards got some new imagery that feels better suited to the deck and my intentions, but all cards have been slightly brightened up too! The little foldout guidebook has a new note about the creative process (aka, I make it known, on paper, that absolutely no generative AI was used!), but the rest of the contents are unchanged!

Anyhoo, let’s get onto pulls. As always, please read for your rising sign (if you know it), but you will likely find something useful looking at the oracle card readings for your Sun, Moon, and any other prominent placement.

Aries: nocturnes.

What songs keep playing… and are you listening to them? And I don’t mean the literal songs (although that could be illuminating too), I mean the songs in your heart. What ideas have you been identifying with and which have outplayed themselves? This new moon, I invite you to listen to what’s underneath the noise of external factors and voices and to find your own melodies. If you notice that the sound of others’ expectations and viewpoints are louder, what are you going to do?

Taurus: lover.

Who holds your heart? Who knows your secrets? What are you sharing together? And if you’re not in a romantic relationship or seeking one out right now, this still applies to you! We can intimate (the verb) our deepest truths with other loved ones; it’s important to know whether you’re able to communicate that with those who are near and dear to you.

Gemini: luck.

Is your environment and community conducive to opportunity? So much of what we think of as “luck” is just being at the right place at the right time, so it’s critical that we put ourselves in situations where we can find that sweet spot. Be on the shore or on the docks to see the ships so that you don’t miss them. Or build your ship (or your docks!) to make it possible.

Cancer: gathering resources.

For those of you who have a dream project in mind: do you have at least ONE thing that will get you started? This can be an outline! A calendar or planner where you can schedule your creation and work sessions. If you don’t have the materials or the funds right now, do you at least have someone with whom you trust to share that idea? A supportive friend can do so much for making our dreams a reality.

Leo: bold moves.

The answer to what you’re seeking requires a journey. This could be literal (and it doesn’t have to be far! Maybe it looks like taking a walk down a different street instead of your usual path) or it could be in a book (*cue Reading Rainbow theme*). Or YouTube video. Whatever the case may be, it’s going to require something new and action unlike you’ve done before. But also, remember, you’re not alone. This card (which is one of the updated ones!) shows a group of people moving towards something new— there is (and/or will be) community out there for you! There’s also a lil snail! Meaning even the “smallest” or “slowest” (according to society’s capitalistic standards) actions can still make a difference!

Virgo: scoundrel.

Be prepared to be the villain in the story, at least for a little while. Which sucks BUT sometimes that’s just the case. You’re in a transformative moment in your life and/or about to take a transformative action… and the unfortunate truth of the matter is that other people may not fully understand or approve of it. You’ll need to do your cost-risk analysis, but anyway we cut it, you’re going to offend or disappoint someone. The most critical thing is knowing your own truth. Why are you making the decision you’re making? Or taking the actions you’re taking? When you close your eyes and breathe in deeply… how do your choices feel in your body? Only you know (and what a wonderful thing it is to know yourself… ya know?).

This post was made possible by my generous supporters on Ko-Fi!

Libra: stories.

When was the last time you had fun with friends or lovers? Romanticize your life. If things have felt dull or dim regarding your closest relationships, what can you do to bring the color back? This doesn’t have to be spendy (there are a ton of injustices happening and the economy is awful, I don’t deny that); this can honestly just look like having a weekend lunch at the local park (weather permitting, of course). Or if they’re far away, scheduling a phone call or a voice/video chat and dressing up for it. Make it fun, make it your own.

Scorpio: delays.

For this new moon in Aries (and the next few months, tbh) I invite you to explore your relationship with disappointments and delays. I know, this isn’t the most exciting horoscope, but consider how well this aligns with your ability to tap into the mysterious. How do you keep yourself busy while you wait for something external? How do you spend your time away from expectations (your own and others’)? There is no “right” or “wrong” answer here, just an examination and opportunity to adjust your actions. For some of you, this could also be a chance to look at your relationship with rest and relaxation. Are you someone who is constantly pushing? When was the last time you took a nap?

Sagittarius: guardians.

Pleasure can be protective. When you know what makes you feel good, you gain a clearer understanding of what does not. Please use this new moon in Aries to clarify your relationship to pleasure, recreation, and creativity. Apply this to aesthetics, relationships, and sex (with others and yourself!). What do you like? What feels good? Focus on what lights you up and feels [re]generative. Play around and trust that bringing in more fun and excitement can actually guard against what wants to dull your shine.

Capricorn: ruminating.

Curiously enough, this is a repeat from the previous new moon! The card rotation is different though*, as if to remind us that there is always something else we can apply a new, ruminative perspective towards. Astrologically, this new moon (and the stellium of planets) highlights your fourth house of foundations, upbringing, and home life rather than your routines (although obviously, they are intertwined). So… is there something concerning those themes that you feel it’s time to explore? Perhaps there’s something that needs a little more consideration in your mind? Remember: it’s not a bad thing to ruminate (especially in this current culture of impatience, immediacy, and wanting to outsource our thoughts to machines!). The fourth house is heavy (in a grounding way), and working through that requires care. Looking into your family life, upbringing, and ancestry could yield something surprising and wonderful.

*HOWEVER if you wanted an affirmation to take action on the thing you were contemplating last month, yes, this is another sign to do it!

Aquarius: Anchor.

Does your daily routine feel grounding to you? Do you feel like it’s something that stabilizes you when things get hectic and confusing? If not, it’s time to rebuild it. It’s time to transform it. This isn’t just about your to-do lists either. This is about all the things you do regularly and generally on autopilot: what roads do you usually take for your daily commute? What are the staples you buy when you go grocery shopping? What apps do you open up when you’re bored? Which group chats do you send the weird memes to? Do any of those things feel regenerative and stabilizing? Or are you simply relying on muscle memory? Use the fiery energy of this new moon to bring real warmth and welcoming energy to what you interact with daily.

Pisces: Witch.

When was the last time you followed your intuitive hunches and wanderings? Your creativity (however you define and manifest that) and curiosity are gifts! It is always worthwhile to invest time and effort into nurturing your unique interests and inclinations, so if you’ve been neglecting that… why? Saturn spent quite a long spell in your sign, and now it’s finally outta there with a bunch of other planets in your house of resources and being resources. Please refill the creative well again and give yourself permission to dive into new projects and studies. Even if you can’t see the exact outcome yet, don’t be afraid to start.

May the fires of this new moon light up paths for you and yours. It’s a tough time right now, but every day is a chance to course correct. Every day is a chance to help each other out. 🔥

I published a deck of oracle cards AND one of affirmations! You can buy both now!
