New Moon in Capricorn Jan 2026 Stronger Together

On January 18th, 2026 at 11:51am Pacific Standard Time (UTC-8), we have a New Moon in Capricorn at 28°. We still have numerous planets in Capricorn, so that stubborn sea goat energy is still high, and it wants us to get our plans on paper and commit to something. If you’ve been on edge and antsy to get something going, this new moon will give you something to hang your hat on.

Furthermore, the end of this month (the 26th) has Neptune moving out of Pisces, where it’s been since 2011. Then, we have Saturn moving out of Pisces as well, where it’s been since 2023. While both of these have dipped into Aries in the past year, this time, it’ll be a proper goodbye for years to come. Then, we also have Uranus leaving Taurus (where it’s been since 2018) in April.

So, chapters are ending, hopefully for better and not for ill. However, the way the world has looked thus far will not be the way it appears as we move further into 2026. We are headed for uncharted territories (which we can see via current events), and if there’s one overarching lesson to impart, it’s that we’re not meant to do any of this work alone. We can’t ICE OUT the fascists and the oppressors unless we work together and help one another.

The TLDR; is to help your community when you can, AND also let them help you if you need it.

Case in point, I’m SO thankful for my people. Y’all have shown up and supported me in such a big way during this time. Thank you for your generosity and for giving me a safe space to land and ask for help. <3

In gratitude, I hope the following oracle card’scopes will give you a little guidance and support as you plan for the months ahead.

As always, ideally read for your Rising Sign if you know it, and factor in other big personal planetary placements (like your Sun, Moon, or Venus) as you see fit.

Aries: explore

This new moon in Capricorn, consider expanding your comfort zone and learning more about the world (immediately around you and far beyond that). This is particularly relevant if your career and public reputation have felt stagnant and staid; the answers you’re looking for to help you expand and grow will not be found in the same old haunts.

Taurus: attunement

It’s time to lock in. Whether it’s a hobby or just an area of interest, if you’ve been hovering around a hyperfixation, land the plane. Make plans to learn more about whatever that thing(tm) is, and don’t be afraid to dive deep. 2026 could very well be the year you learn that foreign language, knit yourself a pair of socks, or write an EP’s worth of songs.

Gemini: anchor

Don’t let the past weigh you down. Instead, let the past pave a path. There is a difference between something or someone being grounding and them being a burden that keeps you trapped in the past. This new moon, find ways to reframe old memories and connections. Don’t feel guilty if you want to lift the anchor right now. Don’t be scared to do so, either. You can find your way back to the port when you need to.

Cancer: movement

For this new moon, commit to bringing more levity and flow into your life. Make more time to literally move around more. This could be literal and as simple as setting up reminders to get up and stretch, or it could be more elaborate and look like signing up for rock climbing classes. Additionally, bring more movement into your interpersonal interactions; pay attention to when you’re just following a script with those who are near and dear to you (personally and professionally). Aim to be more present in your conversations.

Leo: patience

Good things take time. If you’re eager to achieve or acquire something (especially by way of work and/or wellness), it’s not worth it to rush ahead to the end or take shortcuts. I know you have the fervor and heat to make things happen, Leo, but sometimes you just have to do the legwork (in all meanings of the word) for weeks on end. For this Capricorn New Moon, I implore you to look ahead to when the Full Moon in Capricorn will occur, all the way into the future on June 29th and work backwards from there. What does consistent, steady, sustainable progress look like with that timeframe in mind? Go slow, be patient, and trust that what you do now will flourish come June.

Virgo: take notes

Attentiveness is one of your strong suits, Virgo, but be mindful you’re not simply doing excessive data collection. Whatever has been your focus during this time (or during the new moon this weekend), prioritize embodied understanding. What’s on paper is one thing, but how do you feel about things? Make time to drop your shoulders, let out that big sigh you’ve been holding, and just sit still for a little bit. What comes through in the silence and brief moments of calm? Feel into your body and let your mind relax.

Libra: delays

If you’ve been working towards something but not seeing the fruits of your labor, it’s time to take a step back and look around. I mean that literally. This new moon invites you to make the most of a delay by going out[side] and enjoying the space and place you have right now. It is very much a time to stop and smell the roses or any other plant that’s nearby, whether it’s a houseplant that may need some extra TLC or the local park in your neighborhood that you still haven’t visited.

Scorpio: rituals

Magic is made in the mundane. If you don’t already have some sort of sacred daily ritual for yourself (in every timeline), use this new moon in Capricorn to brainstorm. And even if you do, reassess it and fine-tune it. Now, when I say “ritual,” this could be as woo woo as pulling a tarot or oracle card and doing a journeying meditation wherein you softly stare at the card for 10 minutes every day. Or, it could be simpler by envisioning the day’s anxiety, doubt, and fear getting washed away every night when you brush your teeth and wash your face. It’s all up to you!

Sagittarius: attraction

What piques your interest and draws your eye is a reflection of your values in one way or another. If you’ve been gravitating towards something lately but haven’t fully acknowledged or properly engaged with it, why? If there’s a barrier, what does it look and feel like? On the flip side, if you’ve been feeling dull about life these days, give yourself permission to be wooed and wowed again. Take yourself on a date! (Also, consider whether depression is the culprit. Or, if you’re in the Northern Hemisphere, whether it’s Seasonal Affective Disorder at play [as well].)

Capricorn: masks

It’s been your season, Capricorn, with a ton of planets weighing on your sense of self, your physical body, and how you show up in the world. This new moon continues that energy and gives you a chance take all of that freshly gleaned information (most of which is still present by the time of the new moon) and use it to your advantage. What have you learned about yourself in the past month (or year) and what do you want to showcase moving forward? Think about where you want to be by the full moon in June and map out a plan.

Aquarius: softness

Be kind to yourself this new moon. If you’ve been pushing yourself and setting high expectations, pump the brakes and examine where that pressure is coming from. Give your nervous system a reset by resting and eating well this weekend. Clear off extraneous tasks, air out the rooms, change your sheets, and try box breathing if you don’t already employ it during stressful times. Start with an exhale and then inhale slowly and deeply for 4 seconds (all the way to the bottom of your belly), hold it for 4 seconds, then exhale slowly for 4 seconds and hold that for 4 seconds. Repeat a few more times.

Pisces: teacher

Allow the unconventional to surprise you. You’re no stranger to thinking outside of the box, Pisces, but this new moon, feel free to wade through the waters instead of diving deep. Let your pet and plant allies remind you of what you need right now. Let the art you love reveal what makes your heart sing. If you’re feeling social, spend time with the people who don’t rush you and have supported any “strange” tangents and “abrupt” pivots.

The astrology of this past month has been fraught, but I hope this weekend gives you a glimmer of clarity and control. I believe in you!

I published a deck of oracle cards AND one of affirmations! You can buy both now!
